Double Trap Success

By July 7, 2013August 2nd, 2013No Comments

It seems that unlike last year we have finally hit a patch of really nice weather and the Sussex Double Trap Championship held at NCSC on 7th July was no exception.

Once again we shared the event with three other counties which meant that with good attendance it really felt like a county championship, the other counties where Greater London, Oxford and Surrey. Unfortunately our own DT specialist, Steve Scott, couldn’t make the event as he was on official GB duty at a World Cup event in Spain.

There were noteworthy performances from our Junior Champion, Scott Anderson, who finished with the 2nd highest Sussex score and Ladies Champion, Jan Kerwood, who turned cartwheels when she beat all the men in round 3. It was also nice to see Ladies Runner-up, Hannah ‘Spanner’ Gibson

Scores were initially low as competitors adjusted to the new format – instant release, 4 rounds of 15 pairs and random schemes, but everyone enjoyed the new system which lends itself easily to those used to shooting the various sporting disciplines. The scores were Senior Champion, Karl Kobylka (58), High Gun and Veteran Champion, Cliff Goodwin (85), Ladies Champion, Jan Kerwood (67), Junior Champion, Scott Anderson (68).
